Privacy policy

Last updated June 2026

Yocum Law Office operates this Guided Legal Services portal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we look after it. We keep it short on purpose.

What we collect

Information you give us: your name, email, phone, county, and the answers you enter in the eligibility review and case details — including sensitive details about your marriage, property, debts, and, if you apply for a reduced fee, your household size, income, and the documents you upload to support it.

Information we generate: your account, the stage of your matter, messages between you and the firm, documents we prepare, and records of agreements you sign and payments you make.

Basic technical information such as your IP address and browser, which is recorded when you sign an agreement so the signature can be verified later.

How we use it

To evaluate whether a guided service fits your situation, prepare your court documents, communicate with you about your matter, process fees, and meet our professional and legal obligations.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Mindy Yocum and authorized firm staff. Beyond that, only the service providers that make the portal work — our hosting and database provider, our payment processor, and our scheduling tool — and only to the extent needed to provide that service.

We may disclose information if required by law or court order, or when you ask us to file it with a court. Court filings are public records; sensitive identifiers such as Social Security numbers are handled through the confidential forms the court provides.

How it's protected

Your information is stored with access controls that limit each account to its own matter, and documents live in private storage reachable only through time-limited links. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and never touch our systems.

No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you.

How long we keep it

Client files are retained as required by Ohio attorney record-keeping rules. If you start an eligibility review and never become a client, we keep what you submitted only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry.

Your choices

You can view and correct your contact information any time in account settings, and ask us to correct anything else by sending a message through the portal. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep — email myocum@yocumlawoffice.com.

The portal is not intended for anyone under 18, and our guided services are only for marriages with no minor children.
